Shapefiles can be extracted from the spatial database via the viewers.

In the appropriate viewer:
1. Zoom to the desired extent.
2. Check Visible the Layers in the Layer / Legend you wish to extract.
3. Select the Extract tool in the toolbar.
4. Follow the directions in the Pop-up window to download zipped files to your directory.

Tip: Large extents with lots of features may fail in the extract process. Some of these datasets are available as Shapefiles (below) or Personal Geodatabases using the Geodatabases navigation button.

Shapefiles - You can also download zipped Shapefile versions of the pre-extracted datasets for the larger datasets. The zip files are organized on the FGDC Framework Geospatial data types.
