Initial funding for the Data Integration Project comes from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs’ Energy and Mineral Impact Assistance Program.

“The Project consists of developing a system for integrating local data into regional framework data. The value for framework data is that it can be used as a tool for analyzing and understanding virtually all regional challenges. These include delivering emergency services, responding to disasters, understanding virtually all the impacts of growth, developing land use polices and delivering local and state government services. The effort will address integrating transportation and parcel framework data. It will also create the infrastructure for maintaining, housing and serving these data sets in a manner that will enhance emergency and disaster response. The Project seeks to test and implement this model in a four county region in southwest Colorado. The counties include Delta, Montrose, San Miguel and Ouray.” – Project Description, Objectives and Requirements

The $36,000 DoLA grant is being dollar-for-dollar cash-matched through the cultivation of new members and a portion of the dues paid by existing members. An unmentioned goal of the Data Integration Project is to become self-sustaining through new memberships and voluntary contributions from regular users of the data, such as real estate agents/brokers, title companies, etc.
